Hey Sara,

Funny thing, I gave Geotoko a huge shout out a few weeks ago. Love what they are doing and the fact that they are Canadian. I haven't used them, but have been following them closely. Nothing but good reviews from my perspective. I am a huge advocate for location based marketing (Or, as I like to call it 'location enhanced marketing'). Two thumbs up. Have you used them for a location based campaign yet?

Hey Renee - great insights... what are your thoughts on Geotoko? I saw them on Mashable and signed up with them to essentially create ads for foursquare, gowalla etc. Would love to get your thoughts.

Great article Renee. Social Media is changing "traditional" marketing by establishing a personal connection with the consumer rather than bombarding them with advertisements. Now marketing is about listening to the consumer and adapting to their needs.

You are bang on when it comes to researching what others are doing. It's not so much about duplicating as it is about following key success factors in a social media campaign, strategy or whatever. Seek out what others are successfully doing, find out why they are successful and see if it fits with what you want to accomplish, then ad your own spin.

Well Said.

I think your advice on how to approach is important. Whenever I advance into a new world I first do my research to look at who is doing it successfully, follow and learn.

Don't copy that persons style or technique. Rather - use it as a guideline to inject your own messages, content, style and tone.

Thanks love.
